My Bemer Discoveries in Practice and Tips for Personal Use

My parents have asked that I share what I’m discovering/learning with my Bemer ProSet use at home and in office and I thought I could pass it on here to for those of you interested. I’ll keep adding to this blog to keep it altogether for simplicity sake!😊

For those of you who don’t know what a Bemer device is it’s a class 2 medical device that increases circulation n the body by 30% through a patented signal that impacts vasomotion.

Working at the root cause level of illness n my holistic practice as an ND and being very interested in disease prevention and health optimization I got excited when I was introduced to the Bemer as it fell right in line with what I knew about the importance and impact of foundations such as healthy blood flow on overall health and vitality. It has been simple to incorporate into my acupuncture, Bowen and yoga therapy sessions to support integration and as well I have clients come in for 15 minute Bemer sessions to support healing of injuries or to support a health and wellness reset/detox.

Now onto my thoughts and discoveries …..👌

To start a note about hydration. Making sure you are hydrated when using the Bemer is important. The recommendation is to make it a habit to have a cup of water before and after a Bemer session but sometimes people (like my mom) fall asleep during the session and due to illness (Parkinson’s for my mom) have trouble swallowing with ease. If this is you, you can still use the Bemer. Just be mindful of drinking regularly throughout the day (even a little often adds up) so your body is hydrated. No need for concern if you can’t get in a full glass in one sitting. I know we all aim for this anyway but just an extra reason to prioritize this as this will optimize the Bemer’s effect.

I’ll share my learnings and experience with each of the components of the Bemer ProSet as a way to organize my thoughts for you.

B.BODY

The B.Body is the full body mat that we lay on for 8 minutes morning and night that increases the microcirculation at the cellular level in the whole body by 30 %.

There is a set way to begin using the Bemer. You start the first week on Intensity Setting 1 and go up a setting every week.. Most clients who opt for a 10 session course of Bemer treatments over 3 weeks (to support a reset in their health or detox come in and go on a As with all things health wise you connecting to what you feel and experience is at the centre of wellness and an excellent guide to any modifications you make. Some people feel very little on the Bemer at the lower settings and can go to the 10 setting and feel fine.

For myself I feel better at the lower settings and now that I have been using the Bemer for many months I alternate weekly from intensity 1-4 and (also some days I choose the setting intuitively for the day). The plus function has a recommended use for the morning only. It weaves in the 10 intensity intermittently and people I have talked to say that it gives them the energy/pick me up that their coffee used to give them. In practice my clients love the plus signal and in general notice more energy and a feeling of well-being for the rest of the day and often better sleep.

One thing I have noticed lately is that I am less sensitive to the cold temperatures. I am not a cold lover historically and I have twice during our super cold temperatures ( -35—40 C) been asked as I was standing outside waiting for something, “Aren’t you freezing?” To which I replied, “It’s not super cold right now though.” To which they replied, “Yes it sure is!” So my circulation is improving with regular use! This wasn’t an ‘issue ‘before but something is shifting internally in a positive direction which I find super exciting and interesting.🙂

This video shows what happens at a microscopic level with the blood flow at the smallest blood vessels of the body: the arterioles and venules. When we’re born 3-5 pulsations per minute is the rate that vasomotion happens. As we age 3-5 pulsations happen every 10 minutes to support the blood flow - this is quite the slowing down of our body’s receiving of nutrients at the cellular level and clearing of toxins and waste products. The Bemer signal impacts the pulsations to support healthy flow in the body. Better flow (in all aspects)= better health.

B.PAD

LOCAL INJURY and BODY OPTIMIZTION

The B.Pad is one of 3 additional wellness components that come with the Professional Set. It has 3 of the Bemer coils in it - the coils are put wherever you want to support the body’s healing. It can be wrapped around an injured body part or placed over an organ to support healing and optimal functioning there. For example I’ll placet it over the gut or liver when we are working to heal or reduce inflammation in the gut or in the case of the liver to reduce someone’s toxic load and optimize hormone balance.

Speeding recovery time post injury or surgery is a great use of the Bemer. I especially find it helpful for injuries to tissues where blood flow is already poor (like meniscal damage) and that normally are slower to heal.

EYE AND BRAIN HEALTH

After listening to an eye doctor in the States talk about his experience with using the Bemer with his patients I have been wrapping the B.Pad around my head and over my eyes in the morning as part of my 8 minute meditation/breathwork routine . My brain and eye health TLC ❤️. I so want my eyes and brain to age well with the rest of me! 🤸‍♀️For applying the B.Pad to the head and eyes I use the basic Intensity setting of 1 or 2 and I follow the company’s advice to never use the Plus function above the neck.

Due to the highly vascular nature of our eyes the optimized blood flow Bemer support can be quite remarkable for supporting the tissue there and decreasing inflammation. 👌

If supporting brain and nervous system health is something you’d like to do with the B.Pad, another option besides wrapping it around the head is to lay it out vertically under the length of your spine. You could do a higher intensity with this application (since it’s not on the head) and use the Plus signal.

INJURIES

For injuries that are below the neck I like to use Bemer’s set ‘Programs’. Program 1 is 8 minutes and 2 is 16 minutes. I usually start with Program 1 but if the injury is deeper I’ll go to Program 2 which includes higher intensities in its 16 minute flow. Program 3 is commonly used by other practitioners I just haven’t got there yet!

B. SPOT

The B.SPOT is a round plate that has a strap that allows you to easily secure it onto an injured place to focus the Bemer signal. You can use the individual intensity settings but for injuries (as with the B.PAD), I like the Bemer Programs that are made just for this.

This week I am combining the B. SPOT with the B. PAD for an ankle fracture whose healing is not progressing well. The B.PAD bottom coil I’ll place on the inside injured part with the rest of the pad and the remaining 2 coils going up the inside of the leg to support circulation all through there. The B. SPOT I will put on the outside part of the ankle (lateral side of the injury) and use the strap to hold the B. SPOT and B. PAD in place.

B. LIGHT

I use this daily on my face. Its a combo of red light therapy and the Bemer signal so great to support healthy skin. A friend recently commented that my skin looks healthier than usual and my brown discolouration spots are less so (having skin cancer in my family) I’m happy to be proactive with my skin health! On the Bemer there is a setting for the B. LIGHT. The 6 or 10 frequency is what is recommended with this Bemer component. I have moved up to using 10 as it feels best. I was taught to do 2 minute sessions for different parts of the face but instead of that I set it for 8 minutes and am mindful to move it around every 2 minutes.

I have used the B. LIGHT on a client with rosacea and there was a very noticeable decrease in the redness and inflammation after 4 or 5 sessions.🙌
